But each scheme I invent never goes how it’s meant and another opportunity’s missed.

Should I write you a song, bring a small band along, throw roses till they pile at your feet
Or get a plane, learn to fly, write your name in the sky every day – would you think that was neat?
Should I write Nobel Prize novels and dedicate them all to you?
Take your pick or all of this but tell me what to do!
